From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Alexis Sanchez scored twice and created a third as Arsenal climbed level on points with fourth-placed Southampton and moved above Tottenham in the Premier League.

The Chilean was superb in the 3-0 win over Stoke City at the Emirates.

After Laurent Koscielny headed Arsenal into a sixth-minute lead from a Sanchez cross the former Barcelona player fired in a brilliant second before scoring with a deflected free-kick for his 18th goal in all competitions this season.

Arsenal's win was soured somewhat by a serious looking injury to defender Mathieu Debuchy but the Gunners were able to welcome back German World Cup-winner Mesut Ozil following a length injury absence.

Stoke never looked in the match, perhaps surprising considering their recent 3-2 win over the Gunners at the Britannia.

Here, we take a look at the individual performances...
