The Argentina international became the most expensive signing in British transfer history when he switched from Real Madrid during the summer for £57.9m.
Di Maria made a quick impact at Old Trafford after his arrival with three goals in his first five games. However, he has scored just once - against Yeovil - in the 15 games that have followed. The dip in goal return has coincided with Louis van Gaal playing him further forward on a more regular basis.
Writing in his exclusive column for The Independent, Paul Scholes spoke of Di Maria's form: "Of the current team, Angel Di Maria has taken more risks than any other player and, unfortunately, for him it has not worked out. He has given the ball away a lot for very little returns."
The 26-year-old's form coupled with reports of an attempted break-in at his home have led to suggestions he is unsettled.
However, Mendes has dismissed such claims.
"He was at Real Madrid and wanted to go to another of the world's best teams; now he is and he is happy," the super-agent told ESPN.
Manchester United are in FA Cup action against Preston on Monday night.
