Fabio Cannavaro sidelined for Juventus

Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro faces three weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury.

The veteran Italy international was injured during Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League draw with Bordeaux and scans have confirmed a muscle strain.

The World Cup-winner limped out of the Group A opener midway through the second half.

A medical bulletin issued by the Turin club revealed: "a first-degree adductor muscle strain in the left thigh".

Meanwhile, midfielders Tiago and Felipe Melo are both expected to be fit for the matchday two trip to Bayern Munich after knocks picked up against Bordeaux were described as minor.

Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has admitted that his side are struggling to compete with the likes of Barcelona.

The Italian champions held their Spanish counterparts and reigning Champions League winners to a goalless draw in their group stage opener on Tuesday.

But despite parity on the night, Moratti has admitted that Inter - who have been criticised for being too negative on the night - are still some way behind their Iberian rivals.

"I express great admiration for the psychological, physical and tactical preparation of (coach Jose) Mourinho - it was very good," he told La Corriere dello Sport.

"With five new players the team is getting used to a new system. We used the means we have at the moment.

"There is a difference (in class) between us and Barcelona, but I insist that we can reach equality."
