Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Sepp Blatter has left a bad review on TripAdvisor after two high ranking Fifa officials were arrested on allegations of corruption and bribery at the hotel Baur au Lac.
The suspended former Fifa president has seen two more of his former colleagues, vice-presidents ALfredo Hawit of Honduras and Juan Angel Napout of Paraguay, arrested at the Zurich hotel.
The five-star luxury hotel, which charges around £500 a night, has been voted the best hotel in Zurich by users on the travel advice website.
But Mr Blatter left a bad review, giving the hotel one out of five stars, especially criticising the "heavy handed" security.
"The hotel itself is brilliant but I have dound the security to be extremely heavy handed," wrote SUSPENDEDSEP123 in a post that has since been removed.
"The food in the hotel restaurant is beautiful but you are more likely to be arrested and flown to America than to reach the dessert course.
"I have a number of friends who have stayed there and had the same experience.
"However, on a positive note, the sheets used to hide your face on the way to the police van are extremely high quality."
(This is obviously a parody, just in case you hadn't noticed.)
