From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he "will always feel like a Gunner" but says that he is fully committed to Chelsea.

Fabregas moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona for £30m during the summer, and has excelled during his time at Chelsea so far, making four assists in three Premier League matches.

Arsenal had a clause to buy back their former captain, but turned down the option before Chelsea pounced. Fabregas said that he had thought about leaving Barcelona towards the end of last season, and he wanted to return to London.

"I spoke with my agent and told him to find me a team," the midfielder told El Pais. "Chelsea's offer arrived and for me it was about returning to London, the place where I did best. There was no better exit. I spoke with Mourinho and he told me things that I needed to hear, I felt valued, felt that I was going to be part of something important.

"[If you'd told me five years ago that I would play for Chelsea and Mourinho] I would not have believed you, but life changes.

The 27-year-old says that while Arsenal, who played for between 2003 and 2011, will always be in his heart, he has no problems playing against them.
