Follow all the action as Chelsea welcome Sheffield United to Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
Frank Lampard’s side have shown serious improvements in recent weeks, having now kept a clean sheet in their last five successive matches, and can move into the top four with a victory.
It’s been a different story for Sheffield United so far, though, with Chris Wilder’s side taking just one point from their opening seven games. Furthermore, the Blades have only scored three goals in total and desperately need a result to kickstart their season. Follow all the action below live:
60 min
Stevens is checked by Sheffield United’s physios and looks fine to carry on.
58 min
Sheffield United are hanging on here. A corner isn’t properly cleared and Abraham is twice denied from close range, first by Egan and then by Stevens. The latter has hurt himself in the process of blocking the ball.
57 min
Not too far away from the excellent Ziyech. Abraham picks the winger out on the edge of the box and his curling shot deflects just over the bar.
56 min
Kovacic plays a pass into the feet of Abraham, who’s again crowded out in the box. The ball breaks to Mount and his driven shot is charged down.
54 min
Chelsea knock the ball around confidently in their own half. Sheffield United are struggling to do anything more than stay in the game at the moment.
51 min
Another swift Chelsea move as Kovacic slides a pass up to Werner. He cuts inside and picks out Abraham, but the striker is crowded out in the box.
47 min
Chance! A mistake from Stevens allows Kovacic to race through on goal, but Basham gets back superbly to block the midfielder’s finish.
Half-time
Chelsea lead at the break. It hasn’t been easy, though, particularly early on as Sheffield United started quickly. McGoldrick put the visitors in front, but goals from Abraham and Chilwell turned the game on its head. Lampard’s side look sharp and inventive in the final third, but they’re not out of sight yet.
