From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic claims he has identified a weakness in England he intends to exploit when the teams meet on Wednesday.

England will qualify for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa if they beat Bilic's side at Wembley.

If they do so, the Three Lions will avenge their defeat by Croatia in November 2007 which saw them fail to qualify for Euro 2008.

England head their qualifying group with a 100% record after seven games and have improved beyond recognition since the 2007 meeting with Fabio Capello at the helm.

However, while the former West Ham player acknowledges they are a much-changed team, Bilic claims this has also weakened the team.

Bilic said: "They are a very different team. They have some advantages but they are also missing something from their game.

"They are missing some Englishness, some of the things that have always made England teams difficult to defend against and play against.

"All I will say is that they are definitely missing something and we know what it is. But of course I am not going to tell you now what it is. It is our secret."
