Brazil and Mexico played out a frustrating 0-0 draw in Fortaleza.

Both sides remain unbeaten, but with the pair moving onto four points, neither claimed a place in the next round.

It was a frustrating night for the hosts with the partisan crowd willing them on at every opportunity.

Thiago Silva perhaps came closest to breaking the deadlock but his header was repelled by Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa from point-blank range.
