Five Cheltenham players line up to take the free-kick

When five of Cheltenham's players lined up behind the ball to take a free-kick, it was clear that the routine was well rehearsed.

But it seems practice doesn't always make perfect.

Those involved in the set-piece during Saturday's National League meeting at Tranmere were left red faced when the carefully choreographed free-kick ended with nothing more than an embarrassingly wayward effort on goal.

Thankfully for the Cheltenham players, they would go on to win the game despite the failure of the elaborate routine.

They won the match at Prenton Park 1-0 and extended their unbeaten run to an incredible 21 games. It means Cheltenham remain four points clear at the top of the National League table, although after Saturday's free-kick gaffe, sit at the top with their pride a little bit dented.
