A look ahead to Tuesday night’s Capital One Cup quarter-final fixture at The King Power Stadium

Nigel Pearson’s Leicester City will be looking to book a spot in the last four of the League Cup for the first time since 2000, when they beat Aston Villa to advance to the final. They overcame Premier League side Fulham in their last league cup match, winning 4-3.

However, they will have to defeat a side that have beaten the league leaders of Germany and England in the same week. Manchester City have not lost in their last 7 games of late, winning all but one. Despite this form, it took an extra half hour for City to beat Newcastle in the last round of the cup, as they managed two goals in extra time.

This is a daunting fact for fans of the Foxes, but they can take encouragement from the fact that six teams from outside the Premier League have reached the League Cup semi-finals in the last five seasons.

To add to this, the Manchester-side were dealt a massive blow this week, with talisman Aguero being side-lined for at least a month with a calf injury that he picked up against Arsenal at the weekend.
