Everything you need to know about the 2019 final

Manchester City became the first side to reach the 2019 Carabao Cup final after beating League One Burton Albion 10-0 on aggregate. The damage was done in the first leg when Pep Guardiola’s side put nine goals past their opponents before adding a 10th at the Pirelli Stadium in the second leg.

City’s 3-0 victory against Arsenal in last year’s final was Guardiola’s first trophy during his tenure in Manchester and has made it clear throughout the competition it is a title he wants to win again.

Maurizio Sarri is bidding to win his first major trophy as a manager but after Chelsea beat Tottenham 4-2 on penalties after overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, winning 2-1 on the night.

When is the final?

The final will be played at Wembley on Sunday 24 February 2019.

How many tickets will the teams get?

Each team will receive an allocation of around 32,500. Last year the prices for Manchester City tickets ranged from £20-£100 while Arsenal sold theirs for £40-£100 but with consession prices applying.

Last year

Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-0 in the final last year in a match where Arsene Wenger’s side were described as “spineless” by Gary Neville.

Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva scored as the old guard helped City stroll to victory in a one-sided match against the Gunners.

When do tickets go on sale?

Each team decides when to sell their tickets. Last year Manchester City began selling their allocation on 31 January while Arsenal tickets did not go on sale until 7 February.

Prize money

Accoring to reports, the winners receive £100,000 awarded by the Football League, with the runners-up winning £50,000.
