Yaya Toure has named his all-time football XI... but left out Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester City midfielder, suspended for the club's crucial Champions League clash against Bayern Munich at the Etihad on Tuesday night, has snubbed the Portuguese, but kept in his great rival Lionel Messi.

Toure, who played alongside Messi at Barcelona, instead opted to go for a front four that included Diego Maradona, Pele and 'The Divine Ponytail' Roberto Baggio.

The Ivorian's team has a clear Serie A feel with three of the back four making their names in Italy.

In a very attacking 4-4-2 formation Toure also names Zinedine Zidane and former Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira in midfield, with Paolo Maldini, Franz Beckenbauer, Franco Baresi and Marcos Cafu in defence.

In goal Toure has opted for French World Cup winner Fabian Barthez - a choice rival Manchester United fans may find difficult to agree with given his spell at the club.

Toure was speaking to Nissan, the official automotive sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, as part of his role as the car manufacturer’s global ambassador.
