Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick has once again indicated that Thiago Alcantara’s future lies away from the Allianz Arena.

The Spanish midfielder is keen for a new challenge after seven glittering years in Germany with Liverpool one of a number of interested parties.

The Premier League champions have spoken to the Spaniard’s camp and are interested in doing a deal with the player understood to be keen on a switch too.

Boss Flick has reiterated that he believes the Champions League final win over PSG last month was the player’s final game for the club.

“I assume he will leave,” he told SportBild. “We were completely focused on the Champions League, and his contract wasn’t an issue in the past few weeks.

“We haven’t had another conversation now, but I think his decision has been made,”

Thiago has one year remaining on his current deal and has no intention of renewing terms.

Liverpool are significantly interested but are yet to lodge an official bid with Bayern said to be looking for in the region of £30m for the midfielder.

The Reds are well stocked in that area meaning a player or two may have to make way before Thiago arrives.

Georginio Wijnaldum, who like Thiago only has a year remaining on his own contract, is said to be of interest to Barcelona having worked with new manager Ronald Koeman with the Netherlands national team.
