From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Fresh from their Super Cup triumph over two legs, Atletico Madrid again face Real Madrid this weekend in a mouth-watering La Liga fixture at the Bernabeu.

On the injury front, Real's main man Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return. The Portuguese forward missed Real's last match, the 4-2 loss at Real Sociedad, with a back injury.

For Atletico, it is now much-changed team from the side who won the La Liga title last season. Diego Costa and Filipe Luis have joined Chelsea, Adrian has moved to Porto, but in their place have come the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Mario Mandzukic

The champions have one win and one draw from their two La Liga matches this season, while Real have a win and a defeat.
