However, an incident this weekend involving ex-Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne looked much more painful.
The Belgium international, who left Chelsea over the summer, found himself at the centre of a bizarre incident during a Bundesliga game for his new club Wolfsburg.
As De Bruyne lined up a throw-in, an irate looking Tobias Werner of Augsburg ran round in front of him and kicked his boot - it went directly towards the last place the Wolfsburg midfielder would have wanted.
De Bruyne manages to hold it together. Somehow.
