Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has confirmed that his club is in talks with Udinese to acquire Chile winger Alexis Sanchez this summer.

The Nerazzurri have joined in the race to sign Sanchez, who is a reported target of several top European clubs, including Manchester City.

"I consider Sanchez to be a very good player," Moratti said on the club's official website, www.inter.it.

"It's no mystery that we are talking with Udinese to understand the situation."

Earlier this month, Udinese turned down a £30million offer from an unnamed club for the 22-year-old star.

Moratti believes the value set on Sanchez, who is under contract with the Friuli outfit until June 2014, is disproportionate.

"One thing that is certain is that the player (Sanchez) still has a lot to prove," he said. "When (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo arrived at Inter they had already achieved a lot in their careers.

"The value (given to Sanchez) is based on players that have won everything and to me this seems an exaggeration of the current market.

"We are monitoring Sanchez but we are also evaluating other players."

Sanchez scored 12 goals in 31 league appareances this season to help Udinese finish fourth in Serie A.
