Gareth Bale's agent hits back at Roy Keane criticism... he 'failed in management'

Jonathan Barnett not concerned by criticism from the ITV pundit

The agent of Gareth Bale has dismissed strong criticism from pundit Roy Keane, stating that the Real Madrid winger doesn't care about the opinion of people who have "failed in management".

Bale had just 27 touches in the game as Real Madrid were beaten by an excellent Juventus performance, prompting Keane to say on ITV that the Welshman had given his team "absolutely nothing" in Turin.

The 25-year-old has struggled in his second season in Madrid, scoring just 15 goals this season, and has been booed by sections of the Los Blancos support.

"You can't win a game with 10 men," said Keane after the game. "Gareth Bale gave Real Madrid nothing tonight. He took the easy decision every time.

"The reason he is at Real Madrid is because he can be brave on the ball. He didn't take a player on once and his team-mates will not be happy with him."

But Bale's agent, Johnathan Barnett, has told the BBC that the winger is not concerned by the criticism.

"Why should we take any notice of comments from people who don't know what they are talking about - and from people who have failed in management," Barnett said.

"This is only an issue in England. Gareth is at the biggest club in the world. He is one of the best players in the world. He is fine.

"He only listens to relevant comments. He is 100 per cent focussed on Real Madrid."
