After putting four past Fenerbahce last month, Manchester United will be out for three more points tonight as they take on their Turkish opponents in Instanbul.

In a recent change in opinion, Jose Mourinho admitted he is now willing to take the Europa League more seriously - as it offers a route to the Champions League.

“My opinion changed because the rules changed and the Europa League - the winner has a direct [path] to the Champions League,” Mourinho said.

“In the last couple of years the Europa League for the big clubs has a different meaning."

Currently sat in second place in Group A on six points, tied with Feyenoord, a win this evening will see United move to nine points and put the side in a strong position for qualification.

GOAL! Fenerbahce 1-0 Manchester United (Sow, 2 min)

What a start for the home side! The pull was played down the left flank before being pinged into the centre of the United box where Fenerbahce's Sow sprung pulled off a spectacular volley from in between the United centre-back to find the back of the net. Brilliant.

8 min: Corner for United out on the right. It's pinged in by Rooney but he fails to clear the front post and the ball is nodded away with ease. Sloppy delivery from the captain.

10 min: United are slowly fighting their way back into the game as they build up play through the centre of the park, pinging the ball between the middle men. It eventually falls to Pogba who picks out Rashford ahead of him. The striker turns on a sixpence and manages to get a shot off on goal...but it's a weak effort and the ball feebly rolls past the far left-hand side post.

13 min: Lens bolts down the right flank before cutting inside towards the United box. He fakes to cross and takes the ball the other way, but he's brought down by Morgan Schneiderlin's misjudged tackle. It's a clear foul but it seems the player was brought down just outside the United penalty area and the ref indicates for a free-kick. It's pumped to the back of the post and Kjaer is there to deal with it but, luckily for United, his headed effort sails high and wide of the goal.

18 min: Captain Rooney grabs hold of possession in the centre of the park and charges forward without any support on either side of him. He runs into a cul-de-sac as he's confronted by the Fenerbahce back line. He manages to hold onto the ball though, before spinning away from Skrtel to set up an incoming Pogba. The Frenchman is limited for options, however, and United are forced to recycle play.

21 min: Martial cuts the opposition defence in half with a penetrating pass that sets up Rooney for a one-on-one. However, the United captain is let down by a poor touch on the edge of Fenerbahce box allowing Skrtel time to recover and stick in a leg to block the shot and force the corner. A younger Rooney would have put that away no questions asked.

28 min: Bad news for United. It looks like Paul Pogba's night could be over after the Frenchman hobbles off the pitch. Will he receive treatment or will Mourinho decide to make a substitution?
