Cristiano Ronaldo acted swiftly after making a young fan cry ahead of Real Madrid's match with Atletico Madrid.

As the strutting superstar warmed up for the midweek Champions League tie, a wayward practice shot found it's way onto the face of a youngster behind the goal.

Ronaldo was being filmed at the time and could be seen wincing when he saw the effect his off-target punt had made.

The Real Madrid player continued with his warm-up, but when the team headed back to their Bernabeu changing rooms, Ronaldo peeled off to make up with the teary-eyed kid.

Despite being the best player on the planet, it's not the first time Ronaldo has felt the need to give away his shirt after accidentally hurting a fan in the crowd. Watch him do it in 2011...

Ronaldo was unable to find the goal in the match that followed either, but he did create one for Javier 'Little Pea' Hernandez that proved decisive as Real Madrid reached the Champions League semi-finals.
