Reigning European champions Liverpool will need to overturn a one goal deficit when they host Atletico Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.

Liverpool went behind in just the fourth minute in Madrid. The Reds failed to clear a corner and Saul Niguez was on hand to tap home from close range.

Liverpool were almost caught out when a Virgil Van Dijk mistake allowed Morata in, but Alisson saved the striker's low shot. Mohamed Salah then had a goal ruled out for offside in the 25th minute.

Jurgen Klopp changed things up by withdrawing both Salah and Sadio Mane, but Liverpool could not level things on the night and will need to beat Atletico at Anfield when the two sides reconvene.

Here is how we rated the two teams.
