High-flying Brighton missed the chance to go level on points with Premier League leaders Chelsea following a drab goalless draw which ended resurgent Arsenal’s winning run.
Albion edged a rain-soaked encounter at the Amex Stadium but managed just two attempts on target as Leandro Trossard, Dan Burn and Neal Maupay each failed to capitalise on decent openings.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed against the outside of a post for the uninspiring Gunners, who were denied a fourth victory on the bounce having begun the campaign with three successive defeats.
The Seagulls sit fifth with 14 points from seven games, with Mikel Arteta’s visitors four places and as many points further back.

54 mins: Aubameyang finally gets clean through on the Brighton goal, only for the offside flag to eventually go up.
The Gabonese forward was off by a decent margin, but rather interestingly, there was a large amount of space in-behind the Brighton back-line for him to run into.

Curucella rises to the occasion
Former Barcelona youngster Marc Curucella has impressed so far from Left-back for Brighton.
So much of the home sides good work has come down his left-hand side, with Arsenal new-boy Tomiyasu seemingly struggling to contain both him and Maupay.
The signs are positive from Curucella, whose time in England has been mixed thus far.

The away side will reflect upon a very disappointing first period, one in which they were lucky to not concede a handful of goals.
