Arsenal 1-1 Wolfsburg: Lotte Wubben-Moy cancelled out Tabea Wassmuth’s first-half header at the Emirates
Lotte Wubben-Moy scored a late equaliser to leave Arsenal’s Women’s Champions League quarter-final tie with Wolfsburg in the balance after a 1-1 draw at the Emirates.
Defender Wubben-Moy seized upon a free kick from Tobin Heath before thrashing a shot past the Wolfsburg goalkeeper to give Arsenal a deserved equaliser in the 89th minute.
It looked as if the Gunners would be frustrated after Tabea Wassmuth’s first-half header gave Wolfsburg the lead, and the visitors had further chances as Wassmuth hit the post in the second half.
Stina Blackstenius and Beth Mead missed opportunities for Arsenal but Wubben-Moy’s late strike finally levelled the scores ahead of next week’s second leg, which is set to take place after Saturday’s north London derby against Tottenham.

69 mins: Chance! Arsenal break on the counter-attack who Catley driving the ball forward. She passes it into the box to McCabe who lays it off to the arriving Miedema. Miedema drills a first time shot but belts her effort over the crossbar!

64 mins: Catley’s ball across from the left is aimed at Miedema but a deflection knocks it safely to Schult in Wolfsburg’s goal.
Arsenal regain possession and Kim Little brings it down the inside left channel. He flicks a lovely diagonal pass over the top to pick out Beth Mead but the Arsenal forward can’t get control of the ball before she’s flagged offside.

61 mins: Off the woodwork! Arsenal breathe a sigh of relief after Wolfsburg fails to capitalise on two great chances. Lena Lattwein threads the ball in behind Leah Williamson and plays Tabea Wassmuth into the box. With just Zinsberger to beat she slots her shot over to the back left corner and hits the post!
The ball bounces back to her and Wolfsburg keep the attack alive. Lattwein carries the ball to the byline and pokes it into Jill Roord whose effort from close range rattles into the crossbar and bounces clear!

58 mins: Finally there’s a response from Wolfsburg. Popp recovers the ball and pushes up the pitch before sliding the ball out to Huth on the left side. Her cross is swung high into the middle but gets claimed by Zinsberger in Arsenal’s goal.

55 mins: Arsenal win a free kick on the right side and Catley slots another fine cross into the box. Oberdorf is there to win it for the visitors but can only put it behind for a corner.
Mead takes the set piece and bobbles a low pass into the box. Wolfsburg don’t deal with it well and Arsenal squeeze it back to Mead who’s come into the area from the corner. She squares a pacey ball across the six-yard box and Miedema sticks out a leg but just can’t reach it for a tap in.

52 mins: Disallowed goal! Arsenal are truly on the asendancy now. Another beautifully weighted pass comes through the lines and is collected by Blackstenius running down the inside right channel. She carries the ball into the box, takes it past the goalkeeper and guides it home expertly only to see the offside flag go up as the ball hits the back of the net!

50 mins: Chance! Arsenal should be level. Miedema makes a run into the right side of the box and collects a threaded pass. She draws out Schult before squaring the ball over to Blackstenius on the opposite side of the area. Blackstenius is under pressure from Joelle Wedemeyer but gets off a shot and knocks it wide of the far post!
