Aston Villa's England Under-21 goalkeeper Oakes is set to make his club debut as Bosnich is still troubled by a shoulder problem. Liverpool midfielder Whelan could play his last match for Liverpool after turning down a new pay-as-you- play one-year contract.
Blackburn v Ipswich Town
Newell, who has had knee surgery, will be missing from Blackburn's line-up and Batty is unlikely to risk is injured foot. Winger Ripley could return after a lay-off with a knee injury. Ipswich will give fitness tests to three players - Wark (foot), Linighan (foot and hamstring) and Thompson (hamstring).
Chelsea v Sheffield United
Stein, the Chelsea striker, is set to return for Chelsea after 10 weeks out with damaged ankle ligaments. Chelsea also welcome back captain Wise. Sheffield United travelled with captain Gayle (knee injury). He expects to play but his partner Beesley (virus) will not.
Everton v Wimbledon
Everton may risk an all-out attacking policy with Cottee and Rideout expected to start the game and wingers Stuart and Limpar supporting them. Fashanu returns from injury to lead the Wimbledon attack.
Newcastle United v Arsenal
Newcastle have to make one change with midfielder Watson coming in for Paul Bracewell (groin).
Norwich v Oldham
Norwich midfielder Crook (calf) misses the game, Megson deputises. Oldham are without skipper Milligan, who has six stitches in a gashed forehead following an early collision against Tottenham. Striker Sharp (ankle) and centre-back Fleming (groin) will have late fitness tests.
Sheff Wed v Man City
Phelan is back in favour for Manchester City after an eight- game absence after failing to regain his place in the side even though he had recovered from a knee injury. Hill is ruled out with injury but Kernaghan is back in contention after missing eight games.
Swindon Town v Leeds United
On-loan Orient goalkeeper Heald looks set to make his first Premiership start for Swindon. Leeds are without Speed (ankle) and Dorigo (Achilles tendon).
Tottenham Hotspur v QPR
Tottenham expect to name the team which won at Oldham in midweek.
West Ham v Southampton
West Ham full-back Burrows has recovered from an injury received in last weekend's win over Arsenal and looks set to complete an unchanged line- up. Southampton's top scorer Le Tissier is battling to overcome an ankle injury.
TOMORROW
Manchester Utd v Coventry
Bruce, Giggs, Ince and Hughes are all out with Robson, who could be playing his last League match for the club, McClair and Dublin all coming in. Youngsters McKee, Davies, Neville and Butt contest places on the bench.
