Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

With eight matches left in the closest Serie A race since 1991, Juventus have 54 points, one ahead of Inter and two in front of Lazio.
Filippo Inzaghi hauled Juventus back from 2-0 down to earn a priceless point from a 2-2 draw at Parma yesterday. Inzaghi made one for Alessio Tacchinardi and scored the other as the league leaders saved a match which threatened to deal a major blow to their chances of a second consecutive title. Mario Stanic and Massimo Crippa had given Parma a two-goal lead with headers. Juve were doubly fortunate as Lazio only drew 0-0 at home to Piacenza.
Christian Vieri scored four goals for Atletico Madrid and yet still ended up on the losing side, as Salamanca pulled off a last-gasp 5-4 victory on Saturday. Yesterday a goal by Predrag Mijatovic, looking suspiciously offise, gave Real Madrid a 2-1 win over Compostela and kept them seven points behind the leaders, Barcelona, who beat Athletic Bilbao 4-0 on Saturday.
