Football: Return of Duberry may be answer to Chelsea's injury problem

Michael Duberry may return to the Chelsea side after two months out through injury for tonight's match against Everton at Stamford Bridge.

Duberry suffered an ankle injury following a tackle by Luis Boa Morte during Chelsea's only home League defeat of the season so far, against Arsenal on 21 September.

With Eddie Newton and Jody Morris out injured, Ruud Gullit, the Chelsea manager, may bring Duberry straight back into action.

Graeme Le Saux has returned to training after a month out with a dislocated elbow but is not yet ready to play, so Celestine Babayaro could move into midfield from full-back, with Steve Clarke taking the left-back position as Gullit attempts to cope with the aerial threat posed by Duncan Ferguson.

Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Blackburn was Chelsea's fifth of the season in the League and Gullit knows his side is facing a difficult task against a bottom-placed Everton side who are without an away win in the Premiership for almost a year.

The Chelsea striker Gianfranco Zola said: "The problem we face now is that everybody wants to beat us. But we still feel we can win the League as long as the players keep on improving themselves. If we can continue playing the way we have been playing, that is the key to getting the championship."
