Anderlecht, the Belgian champions, have protested to the governing body of European football, Uefa, about its decision to allow Aalborg, of Denmark, to replace Dynamo Kiev in the European Champions' League. Kiev were banned from European games for three years after allegedly trying to bribe a referee.
Wigan Athletic were yesterday mourning Michael Millett, a former England youth defender, who was killed in a car crash on Thursday, the day before his 18th birthday.
