Kiwi takes five wickets in an over

Neil Wagner became only the fifth player in first-class cricket history to take five wickets in an over when he recorded the feat playing for Otago in New Zealand yesterday.

The fast bowler took wickets from the first four balls of his over, and then the sixth too, in a Plunket Shield game against Wellington. He recorded figures of 6 for 36 in the innings, and a total of nine wickets in the game, won by Otago by an innings and 138 runs. South African-born Wagner is a left-armer and he qualifies to play for New Zealand next year.
