Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.India are to stick with the same players who lost the second Test to England, when the third match of four gets under way in Kolkata next week.
The selectors have kept faith with 15 of the squad from which they chose their team in Mumbai, where they lost by 10 wickets yesterday in a series therefore level at 1-1.
Only fast bowler Umesh Yadav, who was impressive in the first Test in Ahmedabad but suffered a back injury, is missing from the squad for the third.
India diverted from the plan, however, to name a squad today for both the third and fourth Tests as well as two subsequent Twenty20s at the end of England's tour.
They have instead announced only those who may play in Kolkata on December 5.
The final Test will take place in Nagpur.
India squad (v England, third Test, starting in Kolkata on December 5): MS Dhoni (Captain, wkt), G Gambhir, V Sehwag, S Tendulkar, V Kohli, Y Singh, C Pujara, R Ashwin, A Dinda, P Ojha, A Rahane, H Singh, I Sharma, M Vijay, Z Khan.
