Australia 479-7 dec & 12-0 West Indies 352: Lee's haul tips balance in favour of Australia

Brett Lee took five wickets during the morning session on the fourth day of the second Test against West Indies to revive Australia's hopes of victory.

The match had been meandering towards a draw with the overnight pair Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Dwayne Bravo carefully negotiating the first hour before Lee broke the game open with three wickets in four balls. While all three of those dismissals were questionable, it sparked a collapse as West Indies lost their final six wickets inside an hour, and for the addition of only 38 runs, to be dismissed for 352.

That prompted an early lunch to be taken with Australia due to begin their second innings holding a 127-run advantage, despite Chanderpaul's century.

West Indies began the day knowing they needed victory in order to keep alive their hopes of a series victory. Chanderpaul and Bravo looked untroubled for the best part of the session to extend their stand to 132 before Bravo became the first of Lee's victims.
