Your support helps us to tell the story

This election is still a dead heat, according to most polls. In a fight with such wafer-thin margins, we need reporters on the ground talking to the people Trump and Harris are courting. Your support allows us to keep sending journalists to the story.

The Independent is trusted by 27 million Americans from across the entire political spectrum every month. Unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock you out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. But quality journalism must still be paid for.

Help us keep bring these critical stories to light. Your support makes all the difference.

On the tiles

The Reclaimed Tile Company was created, almost by accident, by husband and wife team Lee and Amelia Thornley, who transformed a farmhouse in Cadiz into one of Spain's best new hotels, Casa La Siesta. While decorating, they discovered the hidden riches of Spain's vintage tiles and antique terracotta and set up an online shop to share their finds. reclaimedtilecompany.com

Spirit levels

Sophie Alice Wiltshire is a name to watch. Fresh from the Royal College of Art, she creates ceramics and illustrations from her studio in Winchester. Her naive art style owes a lot to the paper cut-outs of Rob Ryan but her subject matter – in this case the spirit collection at the Natural History Museum – is often darkly original. £12, bysaw.bigcartel.com

Colouring in

Joanna Basford's Secret Garden is an 'inky treasure hunt and colouring book' filled with intricate drawings waiting to be brought to life. It's the colouring-in book you wish you had the hand-eye coordination to do, aged two. £9.95, laurenceking.com

Stills by Nash

Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills and Nash is also an accomplished photographer. Shot between 1969-2003, the images in Graham Nash: Life on the Road feature fellow travellers including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. Free; Proud Camden, London NW1, 3 April-26 May

Feeling blue?

Anticipating warmer days ahead, Hub, one of north London's best boutiques, has this loose-fitting midi-dress with a leather strap belt from Levi's Made & Crafted. Combine with tan boots for a classic Western look. Hub has two outlets on Stoke Newington Church Street – one for women and the other menswear, and you can also order online. £170, N16, hubshop.co.uk

Drinking den

Opening this week behind a secret door in Fitzrovia's Libertine club is the bar Reason and Mankind – named after a poem by Restoration-era hell-raiser, the Earl of Rochester – 'a luxurious speakeasy' with a decadent vibe. Expect plentiful servings of Devil's Whiskers and Top Hat and Tails. 4 Winsley St, LondonW1, reasonandmankind.com
