Sweatshop fire
Iron bars on the windows of a padlocked Bangkok sweatshop kept police and firemen from rescuing 10 teenage girls who died when fire ravaged the illegal factory early yesterday, AFP reports from Bangkok. A man living near by also died from the thick smoke and the man and woman who owned the unlicensed factory were injured, police said.
