Saddam's river

CommentsBAGHDAD (Reuter) - Iraq's President Saddam Hussein ordered the construction of a new river to help irrigate southern Iraq and boost food production. The 61-mile al-Qadissiya river will irrigate farmland in the southern Najaf, Qadissiya, Muthana and Dhiqar provinces.
