Rwanda truce collapses
Mortar and rocket fire boomed out across Rwanda's capital Kigali, shattering a unilateral ceasefire declared by rebels, Reuter reports from Nairobi. 'It's broken down almost completely. There has been heavy shelling,' Abdul Kabia, executive director of the UN Assistance Mission in Rwanda said.
Mass killings by soldiers of the opposition supporters appeared to be continuing. They are avenging the death of the Hutu president, Juvenal Habyarimana, killed in an attack on his plane.
