President Albert Rene and his ruling party easily won the Seychelles' first multi-party elections since independence from Britain 17 years ago, AP reports from Victoria. The elections commission said that Mr Rene won 58.8 per cent of the votes, while the ruling People's Progressive Front won the most seats.
