Your support makes all the difference.One of Mexico's top suspected drug barons, wanted in the killing last month of a Roman Catholic cardinal, has been arrested in a joint operation by Mexican and Guatemalan police, officials said yesterday, Reuter reports from Mexico City.
Joaquin Guzman Loera was handed over to Mexican police by Guatemalan authorities at around midday on Wednesday and immediately arrested, Jorge Carpizo, the Attorney-General, said in a statement carried live on national television. Mr Carpizo said the suspect, reputed head of the powerful Sinaloa drug cartel, had fled to Guatemala after Mexican police detected his presence in southern Chiapas state on 31 May.
