This devastating footage shows the aftermath of a plane crash at Kathmandu international airport in Nepal in which dozens of people have been killed.

Some 67 people were on board the US-Bangla plane as it crashed during landing, veering off the runway before bursting into flames.

Eyewitnesses describe seeing large plumes of smoke as firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze.

The plane was arriving on a flight from Dhaka, the Bangladeshi capital, when it appeared to catch fire just before it touched down on to the runway.

At least 40 people have been killed.
