Police arrested 250 members of India's opposition Bharatiya Janata Party as they tried to break through a security cordon and enter the Maharashtra assembly on the first day of its new session, Reuter reports from Bombay. The protesters were demanding the resignation of the state's Chief Minister, Sharad Pawar.
