South African police are holding a German tourist accused of shooting and wounding two officers with an AK-47 rifle, a police spokesman said yesterday, Reuter reports from Johannesburg. Police arrested Stephan Rays of Hamburg on Tuesday after a shoot-out near Tierpoort, east of Pretoria, in which another German tourist was killed. Police are investigating possible right-wing links.
