US Tyre boss is 'ignorant,' says French Industry Minister

The French Industry Minister has accused US tycoon Maurice Taylor of “perfect ignorance” for accusing French workers of being lazy.

Arnaud Montebourg took issue with the “extremist and insulting” remarks made by Mr Taylor, boss of Titan tyres, who said he would not invest in the French tyre maker Goodyear in Amiens.

Mr Taylor claimed staff at the plant worked just three hours a day.
