Man plays Imagine in Paris in defiance of terror attacks

An unnamed man played John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ for a crowd outside the Bataclan concert hall in Paris – one of the locations of yesterday’s horrific attacks.

The musician is reported to have arrived on a bike, sat down at the mobile grand piano and began playing.

Members of the public and press listened in silence to his rendition of John Lennon’s classic peace anthem. After finishing the song, the musician left the scene in tears.

France is in a state of mourning as it comes to terms with the horrific events of last night. The majority of the victims, believed to be 87, were killed inside Bataclan concert hall.

Gunmen burst into the hall during a concert by US rock group Eagels of Death Metal taking up to 100 people hostage.

As police closed in, the attackers detonated suicide vests, killing themselves and setting off explosions.

It was one of six simultaneous attacks on Paris yesterday for which the Islamic State has taken full responsibility. At least 127 people in the French capital have been killed.
