Sierra Leone to hold elections
Sierra Leone's military government yesterday announced a schedule for return to democracy which would put an elected civilian government back in power by the end of 1995, Reuter reports from Freetown.
The head of state, Captain Valentine Strasser, said the transition would begin next month with the establishment of a National Electoral Commission, and a draft constitution would be put to a referendum in May 1995.
