Los Angeles - A judge in the United States has ruled that a self-proclaimed Satanist should not only be allowed to perform his rituals behind bars, but should also be provided with a black robe, incense, and a gong - if he needs them, writes Phil Reeves.

The ruling came after the inmate sued a prison in Colorado, after officials banned him from performing his rites. US District Judge Edward Nottingham said the ban was a violation of free speech rights.
