Prague bus crash: Three dead and dozens injured after vehicle veers off the road

Three people have died after a bus collided with a car near Prague. Firefighters said a total of 48 people were injured in the accident.

The crash took place in near Horomerice, a small town to the north-west of the Czech capital. A municipal bus veered off the road and into a tree after it was hit by the car.

The bus driver, the driver of the car and one bus passenger died.

Of the injured, five were in a serious condition – including two children. Another 10 people were moderately injured and the remaining passengers escaped with light injuries.

Jana Postova, spokesperson for Prague's rescue service, said: "Two children sustained head injuries and were put on artificial ventilation and into artificial comas."

The Prague rescue service also said 12 teenagers were among the injured.

An investigation has now been launched into the cause of the accident.
