The underground Jamaa Islamiyya claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack on the car of an army officer mistaken for General Ahmad Abdallah, chairman of military courts which have condemned several Islamic militants to death. Two assailants, a police captain and a passer-by died in a gun battle.
