CCTV catches burglar rob home from beneath a child's duvet

CCTV has emerged of a burglar robbing a home while attempting to cover himself with a children's duvet.

Counties Manukau Police in New Zealand published the footage in an attempt to identify the man underneath the duvet.

In the video above, the robber can be seen scuttling across the floor of the home, while holding the bed linen over his head.

Accompanying the footage, the Police Department wrote on their Facebook page that the suspect had stolen both money and jewellery.

"Sergeant John Roberts of the Counties Manukau Police Tactical Crime Unit says the male has covered himself with a duvet and crawled around the house stealing a number of items including cash and jewellery,” the post said.

"The offender has been caught on internal CCTV footage. Police are looking for a male Caucasian, aged in his 20s, and of slim build."
