CCTV footage has captured the moment a 33-ton shark tank burst in the middle of a shopping centre.

Shoppers in the mall in Shanghai, China were showered with glass when the aquarium shattered, sending sharks and fish out.

Three sharks and dozens of turtles and small fish were killed in the incident, while more that 16 people were injured.

It is unknown how the tank broke and police have opened an investigation to find out what happened.
