A climber nicknamed the "French Spiderman" celebrates on top of Malaysia's 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers yesterday after climbing them at the third attempt.

Alain Robert evaded security in the early morning to climb 452m in less than two hours to the top of Tower 2 of the landmark buildings in Kuala Lumpur before he was arrested.

Robert, 47, who has climbed more than 70 skyscrapers worldwide, is being investigated for criminal trespass, which carries a maximum jail term of six months and a £500 fine. On his two previous attempts, in 1997 and 2007, he was arrested at an outside area on the 60th floor.
