A man who was paralysed after leaping from a window in a five-star hotel to escape gunmen during the Mumbai terror attacks is suing the owners.

Will Pike, 32, fell almost 50 feet at the Taj Mahal Palace when terrorists stormed the building and began shooting indiscriminately at guests.

He is now seeking damages from the hotel for failing to provide adequate security, claiming that although the hotel received warning of an attack, it failed to mount a security detail at the back door.

Mr Pike, an advertising copywriter from London, broke his spine in the fall and is confined to a wheelchair. He has served legal proceedings against the Indian hotel owners in London.
