A YouTube star’s Halloween prank has gone viral.

Josh Paler Lin, based in Los Angeles, filmed a prank in which he dressed up as a samurai and appeared to decapitate victims in front of petrified bystanders in a darkened car park.

The video, which has already been viewed more than 100,000 times in the hours since it was released, provoked hundreds of comments – although not everyone is impressed by the stunt.

One user wrote the prank looked so “unreal that a dog wouldn’t be fooled.”

“This prank is so common and repetitive I don't think many people enjoy watching them anymore,” another commented.

Still, some people appeared to have enjoyed the video, writing beneath it was “great”.

With the release of the video, Mr Paler Lin – who is known for his controversial stunts – commented the prank “took me a lot of time and energy” and added he hoped fans enjoyed.

It is the second video released by the star in as many weeks. In the first, Mr Paler Lin set a giant robotic spider on innocent passer-bys – with predictably hilarious consequences.
