Former CIA director John Brennan calls Donald Trump inept, unethical, unstable

Former CIA Director John Brennan has gone after President Donald Trump after the president shared a right-leaning poll that showed Mr Trump with a rising approval rating.

Mr Brennan, who served under six different presidents on both sides of the aisle, said that he was able to respect all of those presidents for their devotion to country. He could not, however, find much respect for Mr Trump.

“I served 6 Presidents, 3 [Republicans] & 3 [Democrats]. I directly supported Clinton, Bush 43, and Obama,” Mr Brennan tweeted Wednesday night, referring to Mr Trump’s immediate three predecessors Barack Obama, George W Bush, and Bill Clinton.

“While I didn’t agree with all their policy choices, I admired and respected all of them, as they put country above their personal interests. Not so with you, as your self adoration is disgraceful,” Mr Brennan continued in the tweet.

Mr Trump had shared an article published in Breitbart News where it cited Rasmussen polling to show the president with a 51 per cent approval rating. The news report, which is known for its right-leaning political take on the news, claimed that that approval would keep rising.

The president, who is famously obsessed with his public image and approval, has had some of the worst polling during his presidency than any other modern president.

That includes several other recent polls outside of the Rasmussen survey, which show him with much lower approval rates. An average of his approval ratings compiled by RealClearPolitics shows him with an approval rating of 41.8 per cent.

Mr Brennan has previously called Mr Trump “unstable, inept, inexperienced, and also unethical”.
